A little about Helen

Why I became an Anxiety Therapist and Coach

I was working as a radiographer within the NHS before our boys came along, and out of the blue one night when they were toddlers, my partner started having panic attacks.  It was shocking and scary and sadly he continued with anxiety for years.

Watching his struggles I felt helpless and frustrated, I felt compelled to support him, and others going through similar or those dealing with loved ones with anxiety.

I witnessed the power of hypnotherapy with my partner and in 2014 I qualified and set up my hypnotherapy business.

Fast forward to today I have gone on to work with thousands of people to overcome anxiety, confidence issues and life struggles.

I am the founder of your calm mind academy which helps many people who suffer from anxiety, stress, overwhelm and worry. I help business owners to step into the expert that they are and feel great in work and at home.

My Training

I am a qualified female hypnotherapist with thousands of client hours. My hypnotherapy training led me to learn more about a therapy called BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), it is amazing for making changes quickly and permanently.

I have used BWRT to help with many forms of anxiety, stress, fears, and phobias as well as self-esteem and confidence, it is such a versatile therapy.

It is fast-paced, dynamic, and filled with energy, I enjoy using it immensely. I also love the results it achieves in such a short time.

I also use parts therapy alongside hypnosis to create your own unique and personal coaching team, imagine your own internal coaching team.

My personal life

I have 2 teen boys and I feel very lucky to live just outside the Lake District, I enjoy walking and being out in nature. Just over the fields from where we live, we can often see deer, red squirrels as well as rabbits, buzzards and the usual farm animals.

Walking and getting outdoors is my therapy, I feel it has also helped my partner over the years to deal with his mental health.

I have a dream, it is to create a place where people how suffer with anxiety or poor mental health can come for help. This place will not only help them, but also the people they are closest too, the people they live with. I few years ago I was working with a client for a fear of flying, her partner had died following a battle with cancer. She talked abut how her and their kids had been offered support, this was the conversation that go me thinking.

Poor mental health and anxiety ripple out to those living with them, I know I live with an anxiety sufferer and there have been times when I have felt like I was walking on eggshells, not knowing what to do, especially in the early years before my training. I would love to be able to support those people like myself, who live with the sufferer, provide a safe place for all.
